Camp Cherokee

Camp Cherokee 2021 Residential Camp is an enriching academic experience for Cherokee Nation students 16 years of age by June 26. The camp will include classes in the areas of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) as well as cultural activities.  Students will be placed in a core class based on the ranking of their areas of interest, as designated on their application. Evening hours will provide time for recreation, enrichment, and large camp events. Students must have a Cherokee Nation Citizenship Card.

Camp Cherokee 2021 Residential Camp will be held at Heart O’ Hills Camp and Conference Center, at Welling, Oklahoma. There is no cost to attend this overnight camp. Space is limited so early applications will receive preference.

Will campers need to bring bug spray and sunscreen?

The nursing staff will have a supply of both bug spray and sunscreen available.

Does my child need swimsuits and towels?

Yes. Dwight Mission and Heart O'Hills locations will have swim time every afternoon.  Students will have time to change clothes before a swim and before pick up. Nowata, Kansas and Rogers State locations will also have swim/water-times.

What are the camp locations and dates for 2021?

Notice: Day and Residential camp scheduled in July at Heart O’ Hills are scheduled at this time.
